What Makes Read Right Academy Different?
A child-centred approach built on 20+ years of teaching, Montessori training, and patient observation of how young children actually learn to read.
We prepare the child first
Before expecting the child to read, we build the listening, sound awareness, attention, and confidence that real reading is built on.
We teach pure letter sounds — correctly
No “buh”, “kuh”, or “muh”. Clear, pure sounds so children can blend smoothly and read with confidence from the very beginning.
Readiness-based, never rushed
Children are guided according to their individual readiness, pace, and confidence — not the calendar or a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
We support parents, not just children
We share simple, practical guidance so parents feel confident helping at home — instead of being left unsure what to do.
Practical methods for teachers
For teachers and aspiring educators, we share child-friendly, classroom-tested techniques you can use the very next day.
We build understanding, not memorisation
Children develop a real grasp of how sounds and language work, so reading becomes meaningful — not a list of words to memorise.
The Read Right Approach
Children learn to read successfully when literacy is taught in the right developmental sequence. The Read Right Approach combines child development, phonemic awareness, structured phonics, blending, comprehension and confidence-building.

Why I do this work
Reading should never begin with pressure. It begins quietly — with listening, sound awareness, and a child who feels safe enough to try.
Over the years, I have watched children blossom when they are taught in ways that match how they truly learn. They stop saying, “I can't read,” and begin asking, “What does this word say?”
A child needs confidence, readiness, sound awareness, listening skills, vocabulary, and meaningful interaction before reading can begin to feel natural.
That belief is at the heart of Read Right Academy — and it is the reason I continue to teach, train, and learn alongside every child, parent, and educator who joins us.

What Parents Say About Us
Real stories from families who have experienced the Read Right Academy difference.

"It was during Covid time I was looking for a teacher who can help my 4 year old daughter to start with reading and math. That's when I came across Kalah teacher. I was very much impressed by the way she handled kids. She is very friendly, teaches concepts in a fun way that kids can never forget. She has created great educational foundation for my daughter. My daughter is in 1st grade now. Even now Kalah teacher is her best teacher. My favorite too 😊"

Please Teach Me Differently
After 20+ years in early childhood education, one truth keeps coming back to me: a child who struggles to read is often misunderstood.

Why Some Children Can Recognise Letters But Still Struggle to Read
Many children can recognise letters confidently, yet still struggle to read simple words. The gap between alphabet knowledge and real reading is more nuanced than most parents realise.

Why Movement Matters in Early Childhood Learning
Parents and teachers often ask, "Why can't my child sit still and focus?" Here's why that may be the wrong question to start with.
